Photographing The Moonrise
While at the Harrison game last Friday I saw the moon start to rise. It came out of a cloud and right into a perfect spot near some trees. I thought that I could make a spooky Halloween image for the blog. The moon made this brief appearance and then disappeared back into the clouds. As luck would have it this happened at a time when the players were not on the field and I was looking for something to photograph. I love it when nature gives me something to do in my downtime.
Photographing The Moon At Dusk
By the time the moon came back out of the clouds for the photo directly above this the sky was pretty dark. To our naked eye you can see the moon and clouds just fine. My cameras though don’t see quite that well. There is too much dynamic range here to make a photo like my eye saw that night. I did my best to make a spooky image though. This is the reason why I normally only make my moon photos around sunrise or sunset. The light is much more even allowing me to make an even exposure. I still like this photo, but if it had happened 5-10 minutes earlier it would have been even better.
