Making Photos Of Louis Sullivan’s Purdue State Bank
A while back I made a post talking a little bit about the Chase Bank building just off of the campus of Purdue. You can view that post here. The building was designed by Louis Sullivan, and was originally the Purdue State Bank. I had only really driven by this bank in the past. I always wanted to stop and take a look, and it wasn’t until I had the idea for a post about it. It is a super cool building that has that ornate look that the buildings of that time had. It is now almost 110 years old, and still catches the eye. You can’t say that for many buildings now.
Photographing The Obvious
If I had visited a city for the first time and saw this building I would have photographed it right away. Because it was in my backyard I can always say that I will do it another day. I am glad that I decided to get out and finally photograph this building. In fact to write my post up about it I visited it a few days to catch it in different kinds of light.
