The Amazing Life And Legacy Of Jimmy Carter

Today seems like a good day to look back at the amazing life of Jimmy Carter with tomorrow being his 99th birthday. If you want a great American story then he has to be up there. He grew up in a very modest house with dirt floors and rose to be the leader of the free world. His political career is something that could be up for debate, but his personal life is something that we should all strive for. Until nearly the very end he was still leading a life of service and helping others. We could all try and learn from the example that Jimmy Carter gave us.

Mixing Sports And History

I made this photo while on my way down to Florida to see Purdue play in a bowl game. Often trips for sports were mixed with history. This was one of the true highlights of those trips though. It was amazing to see just how far this man was able to rise. I was reading the book ‘An Hour Before Daylight’ on the trip and it was so cool to be walking in those same steps. It is one thing to read about events, but it is another thing entirely to actually walk in the same places where they did.
