The Saint Of Second Chances

Midway Stadium In St Paul Minnesota

I made these photos in 2009 during out then annual baseball trip. We would pick a final location, and then see some sights along the way. For this trip we hit Beloit on the way to Minnesota. From there we visited the former Millers site as well as the site of Metropolitan Stadium in the Mall of America. We then hit Midway Stadium which was the highlight of the trip for me. The next two days we would see Major League baseball, but I wanted to see this park where baseball was fun. It did not disappoint. I thought that I would stitch some of my blue hour photos together to make a panoramic image of the view from our seats. I must be missing seeing baseball in person today. This is the second baseball post of the day. We have a long way to go before I will see live baseball again.

The Saint Of Second Chances

I have already used this title a couple of times in this post. I just finished watching this documentary on Netflix and it was so good. It has you hit all of the emotions. I grew up a Sox fan so I knew the Veeck name well. Part of the fun of this Minnesota trip in 2009 was finding the White Sox connections in Minnesota. The Veeck family is certainly one of them. If you have Netflix and you love baseball you have to give this a watch. It is worth your time. We all deserve a second chance after all. Mike Veeck really made the most of his, and even helped a few others with theirs.
