When Things Work Out
Wednesday I had a portrait session lined up for near sunset. All day long the weather was not very good. My apps said that it would clear out just in time though. Sometimes those days with terrible weather can have the best sunsets. The sky never lit up here, but we had some great clouds to work with. I bought some new lights that give me some mobility so we could move around with the light in the sky. A clear sky can make for some good portraits, but man those clouds moving through gave the photos a little mood. Portrait sessions can be fun, but the sky here really made this one a lot of fun.
Photographing Jack
Because of the virus we missed a year watching high school baseball. When it started back up I had kind of lost track with who was in what class. One player that I was sure was a senior leader that first year back was Jack Schaeffer. He just played with the confidence of a senior. It turns out that he was a sophomore that year so I was lucky enough to get to watch him for a couple of more years. When his family reached out to make some portraits of him I was excited. He is a ballplayer that is going places. It has been fun to document his career so far, and pretty cool to get to make some portraits of him.
