A Morning Walk On Campus
This morning I got the kids to school and then went down to campus for a quick walk. I had a goal of using the last of the film in a camera that I was testing so that I could send it in. With my goal complete I was walking back to my car when I saw this photo. If I stood in just the right spot I could get the sunburst through the Purdue arch. One of the mourning doves that likes to hang out on the arch helped complete the scene. While I was walking and looking for scenes for the old film camera I was also trying to find little details to make photos of with my Sony. I don’t know if this counts as a detail photo, but it was a cool way to close out my walk.
Flipping Things Around
For both of the arches on either end of campus I always seem to be there at the wrong time. I was behind this arch with the sun coming through it. One thing that I like to do is to just make the photo with the arch backwards and then flip it in Lightroom so that it reads correctly. A little trick, but one that has helped me make some photos that I really like on campus.
