The Fire Pit With Three Cameras
This was part of a fun project that I did a few weeks ago now. I took three cameras out to Prophetstown to make photos. One was my ‘regular’ setup with a Sony A7R3 and a 24-105mm lens on it. The other camera was my infrared converted Sony A7R3 with a 28-200mm lens on it. The third camera was my Canon AE-1 with a Canon FD 35mm lens on it. The goal was to use different cameras to photograph the same images to see what I could do with them. The goal was to find new ways to look at things. I think that it worked for me as it produced a few images that I might not have made other wise.
Choosing The Photo
The fun part about all of this is looking at the photos to find my favorite. The top photo was made with my infrared camera. The middle photo was made with the film camera and Kodak Ektar film. The third photo was made with my film camera again, but Lomography 100 film. The bottom photo was made with my ‘regular’ setup. So far in this series I have never picked that photo. Here though I like many things about it. In fact I like all of these photos for various reasons. Here instead of making the same photo with all three cameras, I tried to use the strengths of them to my advantage. I have already posted the Ektar image to the blog so of course you know that I like that one. This is the rare time where I really like all of the photos.
