A Look At Lanie’s Barbershop
So far on this weekly look at a local buildings I have chosen some larger places. Today I thought that it would be fun to look at something a little smaller. Back when I would get such things this is where I would get my hair cut. It is a small barbershop in West Lafayette called Lanie’s. The barbershop was opened in 1969 across the street, but this year it celebrates 50 years in its current location. I love the idea of this family owned barbershop standing the test of time while everything around it changes. For the photo above I found a quiet moment during blue hour to show off this family business.
Looking For Info
Do you have any cool stories of buildings here in West Lafayette? Part of this project is for me to learn about the area. What better way to do so than to hear some stories behind the buildings. I can read about architecture and things like that, but first hand stories are a great way to learn about what used to be here. If you have any good stories about any buildings in Greater Lafayette leave a note in the comments or send me an email.
