Photographing With Portra 400 On The Purdue Campus
Part of the fun of playing around with film photography is finding out what I like and what I don’t like. On my birthday I went up to campus to try out a film that I had been really looking forward to. I have been wanting to photograph with Portra for quite some time. It is not the cheapest film so I was trying to wait a while so I wouldn’t waste a roll on out of focus photos. I bought a roll of it though as a birthday treat to myself. I will say that I have more coming after seeing just how good this film is. I really like how it looks. I am still going to try other films, but for now this is the film for me.
The Text That Makes Me Smile
Yesterday I was just finishing up the post that would have gone out right now when I got the text from The Darkroom telling me that my film scans were ready to look at. Of course I dropped everything and went over there to see how my photos came out. It really is amazing to me just how fast they operate. I made these photos a week ago, and the film was put in the mail the same day. To have the scans already is amazing especially since it was a holiday and still early morning out in California. I can’t express enough just how happy I have been with TheDarkroom.com so far. I didn’t know what to expect when I first sent them my film, but they have been amazing. I have been sending them terrible pictures for about a month now, and they keep sending me my photos back quickly. I don’t get paid to say this, but if you need film processed and scanned they are a great resource.
