Neil Armstrong On Expired Film

Neil Armstrong On Expired Fuji Film

In 2014 I bought some film to use in my late uncle’s camera. I had a lot going on at the time though with a baby in the house and learning my way through digital photography. I had a good idea to learn film photography, but I was so swamped in learning to be a parent and learning sports photography that I didn’t have time for another new thing. Fast forward nine years, and I decided to pick up film photography to try and push myself a little. It has been a great experiment so far. It has added a level of excitement to photography that I haven’t felt in quite some time. I grabbed one of those rolls that I bought in 2014 that expired in 2015 and went up to campus. I wanted to see what the film would look like. I was very happy with the photo above. It has a very nice look to it that I was not expecting.

Photographing The Hits On Campus

Part of this photowalk that I was on was making sure that I photographed the same subject with multiple films. The easy way to do that was to photograph the hits so to speak. Find the iconic elements of campus and make photos of those things. I am always looking for other subjects to photograph as well, but if I can get the hits during the walk I can then compare similar photos on different film. This statue is certainly one of the hits.
