Three Cameras At The Native American Village – Part One

Taking Three Cameras Out For Some Fun

A couple of weeks ago I went on a drive to visit a couple of small towns. What I didn’t expect when my trip started was that I would end up at the native american village at Prophetstown. I have lived here for a while now, and I never made it out to see this village. I was always waiting for the perfect light. Of course when you wait for the perfect light you rarely make any photos. On this day I went with the light that I had and made some images. I had my Sony A7R3 with a Sony 24-105mm lens with me. I also had my infrared converted Sony A7R3 with a 28-200mm lens on it. To round things out I had my Canon AE-1 with the Canon 35mm lens on it. This was a fun trip that let me try and play to the strengths of the three cameras and what they could do. Below I will look at the first three images that I made on my trip.

Looking At The Three Images

Here you have the first set of three images that I made on the day. At the top is the Canon AE-1 with the Kodak Ektar film loaded in it. Of course the black and white image is the infrared, and at the bottom is the ‘regular’ image that I made with an Ektar preset that I have loved in Lightroom. For this image I like how much more simplified the film image is. With the 35mm lens I didn’t have much room to work with, but I think that it works here. Sometimes the scene can help you make a better photo.
