The Chiefs Cabin In Black And White

Using The Infrared For A Nice Black And White Image

I really like how my black and white images look with the infrared camera. The photo at the top of the post was made with my infrared camera, and the photo below was made with my regular A7R3. The way that the black and white looks with the infrared camera makes me think of the way that Ansel Adams edited his photos. These are not Ansel quality, but I thought it was a great example of why I love using my infrared camera so much. What do you think? Which photo do you like the best?

A Larger Project

I went out to Prophetstown with four cameras on me. One of them was on my 200-600mm lens for any wildlife that I might see. In my shoulder bag I had my infrared Sony A7R3 with a 28-200mm lens on it. I also had the Sony A7R3 with my 24-105mm lens on it to capture the visible spectrum of light. The third camera that I had was my Canon AE-1 with a 35mm lens on it. I had some fun around the Native American village making images with all three cameras to show off what they could do. I also tried to make photos to show off the strengths of each camera. Of course I need to send the film in to get developed so this little idea will have to wait a while before I can post the results. Part of making photos with the film camera is to teach myself to slow down a bit with my photography. Part of that slow down is waiting for the film to get developed.
