The Goldfinches Return To The Yard

This is the time of year when the goldfinches invade the yard. They are kind of here all year round, but for the next couple of weeks they really have a great time getting the coneflower seeds from the front of the house. This year they also have had some fun in some flowers that came naturally into our front yard. They may actually be weeds, but my wife likes them so they stick around for a while. Here I was lucky enough to capture this goldfinch in the fake daisies while they are still around. It was nice to have a different view of these birds rather than them standing on a coneflower.

Looking Like A Crazy Man

I usually make photos like this in my backyard. This time of the year though I end up in the front yard either in a camping chair or my floor chair. I always wonder what the neighbors think of this crazy behavior. This year I had a photo sent to me so I knew that at least one neighbor had spotted me. I do some crazy things for photos, but this might be the one that makes me look the craziest. I really liked the goldfinch and hummingbird photos that came out of these sessions though.
