A Photo A Long Time Coming

I have stood in this spot a few times in good light ready to make a photo in the past month or so. Every time that I get set up a car or two will come into the frame. I had this photo with no cars in it in my mind so I always made the photo, but I never published it. On this night I was headed somewhere else for a photo when I noticed that the parking lot was empty. Knowing that a car could pull in at any time I quickly grabbed my tripod and ran out to my spot. I was thrilled that I was finally able to make the photo that I had in mind. As the summer fades the blue hour light will be moving into  hours when Dog n Suds is open so I knew that my window to make a photo was shrinking. I luckily made it before that happened.

Combing The Light To Make A Photo

This building looks so good lit up with those red and yellow neon lights. Put those lights up against the blue hour sky and you have a photo that I would chase for a few days. Part of the fun of what I do is capturing those moments when the light is just right. If I made that photo every time that I pulled up to a location it would not be as much fun. Here the effort to make the photo made it a little more special to me.
