The Hummingbirds Return

Since Sometime Around April I have been making hummingbird food for the hummingbirds that stay through the summer. I usually give them some time to get used to me although the last few years I have had one that let me know when it was here by tapping on the back door and it was never worried about me. This year the male and female hummingbirds have been very shy. It has taken longer than normal to have them be comfortable with me. The other night I was out front watching the goldfinches feed on the coneflowers when this hummingbird started going through the flowers out front. Of course my focus shifted over immediately to it as it moved from position to position. Here it was in the perfect pose with the perfect background to make a photo. I may have to sit out front a little more

The Return Of The Bird Photos

This summer I have not been out looking for birds as much as I would have liked. The few times that I went out was during the very smoky days, and I didn’t make anything too interesting. Here I went out with one photo in mind, but came away with something much more interesting than what I had hoped for. As the fall begins and I can get out more in the morning the bird photos will increase on the blog.
