Golden Light In Colfax, Indiana

Earlier this summer after my daughters softball game I took a drive into the town of Colfax. I made some photos that I liked as the sun was setting. It was an extended golden hour because of the smoke from the wildfires diffusing the light a little. That golden light on the water tower in Colfax was just too good to pass up. That along with the blue sky made for a photo that would pop.

A Weird Combo

I normally don’t make city photos with my Sony A9II and the 135mm lens together. When it is sports season that is a combo that I use quite a bit though. Here it was already set up and the light was right so I gave it a try. It really worked very well for what I was going for. That A9II has become my backup sports camera, but it doesn’t have to always be a backup as you can see above.
