Watching A Smoky Sunset On Campus
The good news is that this blog does not deal in breaking news because I made these photos almost a month ago. The smoke from the wildfires was so thick that you could see it just looking down our cul-de-sac. I went out earlier on this day to make wildlife photos, but the hike was not as much fun breathing in smoke the entire time. I decided to spend my sunset up on campus watching the sun set behind the Purdue clock tower. The photo above shows the sun about ten minutes before it would intersect with the clock tower. As it appeared to descend though in the next ten minutes it nearly disappeared making for a hard photo to make. By the time the sun was even with the bells of the tower it had completely disappeared. Things did not go exactly as I had planned, but I made a photo of the sun that I really liked.
The Rest Of The Photos
As I said above I had high hopes for my photos, and they didn’t quite match up to those expectations. It was an interesting night though watching the sun set through the smoke. I hope we don’t have to do that many more times this summer. Here are some of the photos that I made that night.
