Finally Stopping At Fire Station #1
For years I have driven by this fire station and never stopped. Last night I was out making photos hoping for that fiery sunset. The sunset did not pan out so I started to head home. At the last minute I decided to drive a different way home and stop by this station. The light was right so why not make a photo? This is not the easiest building to photograph because of how it sits on this corner. I was thinking that I should have had my 12-24mm lens with me, but I think having to think of a way to make the photo with my 24-105mm lens led me to this angle which might be the best. Had my original idea panned out I would never have made this photo so I had a couple of strokes of luck that led to it.
Following The Light
After the sunset fizzled I walked to my car thinking that I was going to just head home. It was getting dark and the photos might not be there anymore. The sky was still nice though so I needed something to put in my foreground. I remembered this station, and after all of these years finally made a photo of it. I need to come back again with the light is on the building on a nice day and try that out. The fun thing about photography is that even if you have photographed a building before you can do so again in different light and it will look completely different.
