Snokeh At Purdue
One of my favorite things to do in the winter is to make snokeh photos. Snokeh is basically popping your flash to illuminate the snow flakes in front of your camera. It is a great way to get creative in the winter. I stumbled upon this technique by accident during my first winter with a dSLR years ago. The pop up flash came on and ‘ruined’ the shot. When I saw the photo on the computer I realized that it didn’t ruin the photo at all. I have spent the last few years trying to perfect this technique. There are so many variables involved though that it is hard to make the perfect snokeh photo. I will have fun again this year trying though.
Snokeh In July
I usually will hold back a few of these photos instead of posting them all at once. I like to look back on them on hot summer days. Today is not the hottest day of the summer, but a good snow storm doesn’t sound too bad. This whole walk on campus was never published for some reason. I had so many photos going at the time that it kind of was forgotten. The beauty of two posts a day though is that some of these photos will be able to be seen now.
