John Purdue In Black And White

Making Infrared Images On Campus

Saturday night I was back on campus making photos again. I had two cameras with me. One of them was set up for my normal photos. I was thinking about the sunset with my regular camera. With the sun still out I also brought along my infrared camera to have some fun with a different spectrum of light. I love how this camera makes me look at everything completely different than I normally do. I am always looking for ways to try and get out with this thing. With this photo I knew that John would stay dark, but that tree behind him with the green leaves would go white. It would help him stand out a little and give this photo a kind of dreamy feel.

Using The Tamron 28-200mm Lens

I bought this lens to primarily sit on my infrared camera. When I am out on a walk and switching lenses it just gives me more opportunities for dust to collect on my sensor. I already have dirty enough sensors so any way that I can slow this process I am all for. I was a little skeptical about the quality of this lens when I bought it, but it has done a great job making photos for me in the past few weeks. It is great to be able to just make photos when you see something and not worry about switching lenses up. That extra reach to 200mm is pretty cool as well.
