Trying Some Things Out With The Infrared Camera

Saturday night I went for a walk with my infrared camera with an idea in mind. I was going to make some photos and try and find a way to post process them to look like the famous Aerochrome film that Kodak used to make. I didn’t know if I could do it, but I was trying to put trees into my images with that in mind. The light was probably not ideal for this, but for a quick test it would have to do. As I made the photos I knew that it might be sometime before I could edit them properly. Had I known that I would have found a way to edit these images so soon I would have made many more photos. I think that there is something here, but I really want to play around with it a little more before I go too crazy. As I was doing this the light was good enough to make images using that golden light. When this will come in handy are during these long summer days with terrible light. If I can play during those times then it will be fun.

Opening The Door For New Photos

The best part about working with infrared is that you have to see everything differently. You are looking for ways to show the reflected light better. Now with some color in mind it will open up a few more doors to make some really fun images. I like that I have a little challenge for the next few weeks ahead of me. My infrared camera will be going with me a lot more in the foreseeable future.
