Trying To Find Some Good Light
A while back I went out hoping for a good sunset. The clouds about two hours before sunset were amazing, and they would have lit up brilliantly. Of course a thick cloud layer came in right when it shouldn’t have and ruined the show. I did manage to get some good light though just after what I had hoped would be the great light. On this trip I left early and did some long exposure photography to hedge my bets a little. When you post a photo a day you have to make sure that you come home with something. You can see some of my long exposure work from that day here. Although I didn’t get the light that I was hoping for I ended up with a pretty good photo here. I also made a ton of images prior to this that I really liked. No photography trip is ever a waste as you tend to learn something every time. This one was very good though.
Getting Inspired
On the day that I made this photo I had just finished up photographing 27 innings of baseball in two days. My blog had a surplus of images and I had a lot of photos to still go through. I could have just stayed home and edited the rest of my baseball images to make sure that I had them out in good time. While I was editing I was watching a couple new Nick Carver videos. Nick and I couldn’t be more different photographically. He shoots film and loves to camp in the desert. I have a mirrorless camera, and I would never think of camping out in the desert. The differences between us didn’t stop those videos from inspiring me though. I really wanted to get out and make some photos. So instead of editing I went out and made some photos. I am really glad that I did.
