An Infrared Photowalk In Lafayette

Taking An Infrared Stroll In Lafayette

A while back I had some time in between an event I was photographing and a dinner. I was in Lafayette with my infrared camera that I was using for some fun photos for me. I decided to spend my free time in between events making some infrared photos. I love how it makes you see things differently when looking at a scene. You know what will go deep black and what will turn out very white. It is fun playing around with those ideas while walking around Lafayette.

A Little Color

Most of my infrared work I convert to black and white. That process is much easier than what I have to do to get the photos to look like the one above. I have to edit the photo in Lightroom and then take it into Photoshop and then back into Lightroom to be able to adjust the white balance again to get the infrared look. I am sure that there is an easier way, but I have been doing it the hard way. On my walk I thought that this one might look good with just a hint of color to it.

Have Some Fun!

I have been on photowalks and even led a couple when people on the walk were stressing the photos. They wanted to make the best photo all of the time. Photography is meant to be fun. I had no expectations on this walk. In fact I didn’t know if I would get a keeper. I just wanted to go out and see what I could find. Below are a few of the photos that I made on my walk. Some of them might not be the best, but I had fun making them.
