Taylor Swift Finishes Up Her Shows In Cincinnati In Some Great Light
Saturday night in Cincinnati had a different feel for us. My oldest was actually in the concert with a friend for the final show. As the songs were playing I knew that she was having the time of her life inside. That made the songs feel a little different. The concert was actually moved up an hour to try and avoid some bad weather in the area. When we heard the first thing that we did was to double check that info, and then of course make sure the kids got into the stadium on time. From then though I was thinking about this photo. The night before I watched the finally closely planning out a photo. It was much darker though that night so I didn’t know how everything would work. With the new start time I knew that this could be a special photo. We would be near the end of blue hour which would give me a much better sky. I learned from the night before and think that I had a better composition for night two. I was exploring everything on night one so things were more spontaneous. For night two I went to this spot and locked my tripod down for the night. I wanted a few boats to show up on the Ohio River on the left side of the image for sure. I also loved that park and knew that the sidewalk would lead your eyes right to the stadium in a cool way. I left space at the top of the photo for the light show in the sky. Everything kind of works together here to bring your eyes right to the stadium near the center of the photo. I really love planning a photo like this. I love it even more when it all works out.
Two Nights In Cincinnati
The two nights in Cincinnati for the Taylor Swift show were pretty amazing. If you sit back and think about what Taylor Swift has done with this tour it is pretty amazing. You have 70,000 or so inside the stadium with thousands more outside singing along as well. I have never seen anything like it, and I was glad to make a photo showing some of that fun off. For this final night I changed up my mindset. For years photographing sports I have to think about making many photos on the night. I want a gallery that tells the story of the night, and also tells the continuing story of the season. For the final night in Cincinnati I wanted one photo to do all of that. I went to a spot and stayed there. Of course right after making my final image as the outro to Karma was ending I was sprinting through the park in the photo to get to our meeting spot. It was fun seeing the joy on the faces of our pair that went in as they came out. That look made the hours staring at a Ticketmaster website a few months ago worth it. No matter what you think of Taylor Swift as an artist you have to admire how she made this weekend into a two night event. It really is impressive what she has done. I am old, but not old enough to have experienced Beatlemania. I have to think that this is somewhat close to that. As always you can click on the image to see a larger version of the photo, and you can also purchase a print once you click as well.
