Looking At Light Differently In Downtown Lafayette
Wednesday I was out in Lafayette making some images with the infrared camera. Basically the camera sees reflected light so it makes you look at everything a little bit differently. It is fun to go out and challenge yourself to see things in a different way. Knowing that the trees are going to turn white and the sky will get very dark really changes how you frame up scenes. I really like how these infrared photos turn out. They have something about them that I really like. There will be more infrared images to come this summer for sure. I just picked up a lens with the thought that it will stay on my infrared camera most of the time.
Getting The Infrared Out
A couple of days ago I talked about how I use my macro lens much more in the summer. The same can be said for the infrared camera. The fun thing about the infrared camera is that you can use it in the harsh midday light and things still look good. In the summer that harsh light lasts for much longer. In fact on the day that I was out walking around it was the longest daylight of the year. When the light is harsh and you still want to make photos the infrared camera helps a bit. It is a great way to help me stay creative on long summer days.
