Thinking About Ocean City
In the past we would be thinking about our upcoming trip to Ocean City, Maryland. It was a regular occurrence around this time of the year. I was really learning what the heck I was doing in photography during those early trips to the shore. It was an amazing playground to try things out though. You could find just about any type of photography out there depending on the time of day. I would wake up early and photograph the sunrise at the pier and late at night be around the arcade to make photos like the one above. I don’t recall sleeping a lot back then, but man I was having fun making photos. The photo above is almost ten years old. Back then I would only edit when the photo was going to be on the blog. In fact this was still during my photo 365 project. I thought that this would be a fun photo to go back and play around with a little. It is amazing how far things have come since I made this photo.
The Old Gear
Looking back at the metadata of this photo made me smile a little. I made this photo with my old Canon 60D with a Tamron 10-24mm lens on it. For things like this it really doesn’t matter what kind of gear that you have. That same combo the next year would make one of my most viewed photos ever. I never sold the 60D. I thought that for what people would give me for it I might as well keep it. A cool project this year would be trying to make some photos with it again.
