Making Photos Close to Home

Sometimes when I think of the perfect sunset photo I don’t always think about my own backyard. Living in a subdivision I don’t have the natural landscape around me that I normally associate with a good sunset photo. Sometimes though you just have to go outside and shoot when the sky lights up. On this day I saw the potential, but didn’t have a plan of where to go. Instead of missing the great light driving to somewhere I decided to try some things at home. This was a shot using a neighbors tree to give the sky some kind of context.
