Lafayette Watches Over the City Named in His Honor

Last week I took a walk in downtown Lafayette with the kids. We explored many of the small things that make the downtown so great. I did make many photos, but I did stop to make this one of the statue of the Marquis de Lafayette at the base of the courthouse. I just liked the way that the light was playing with it. Lafayette was a great man that helped two countries gain independence. Not many people can claim that.
