The Leaves Are Starting to Turn

While out on a couple of walks today I noticed that more and more trees are starting to turn. Last year it seemed as if this happened right before a huge storm so that the color did not last very long. I need to get out and make some photos while the color is still around. The bleak winter will be upon us very soon. I made this photo last fall from the parking lot of my step daughters school. The lot overlooks a highway, and the view was incredible. Sometimes you just do not know when you will make an image.

Preparation is the Key

I should have been out already scouting some locations so that when the change does happen in full I have some places to go right away. When it is all said and done I am still fairly new to this area. I don’t have go to locations yet. This is where it is nice to have a little preparation on my side. Knowing what I want to shoot early can help me maximize my time out in the field. If it was up to me the next couple of months on this blog would be filled with photos of fall leaves. Maybe mother nature will cooperate and make that happen.
