Finding New Ways to Photograph the Willis Tower
While in Chicago I tried to find ways to frame the Willis (Sears) Tower in ways that I had not done before. This composition was a bit familiar though. I love how the Sears Tower, the Spearman, and the Congress Hotel all converge here. It is a great spot to make a photograph, and while out on a Photowalk one day I had to make the picture. I have pictures of just the Willis Tower alone, but when it is mixed in with the city I think it works the best.
Editing the Photo in Lightroom 5
For this photo I used the HDR Look preset by Matt Kloskowski. This is a very familiar preset to the readers of this blog. Pressing the one preset button gets me very close to a place that I need to be. From there I can tweak the sliders to get the look that I am going for. Each photograph is different so one preset will never be great for every photo, but starting of with the HDR Look preset is a great place to be.
