You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out 50 and ARCA Qualifying

Yesterday I spent the day at Winchester Speedway watching a very fun day of racing.

You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out 50

The modified race last night was called the You’ll Shoot Your Eye Out 50. It was a unique race in that the winner received a Red Ryder BB Gun. I guess that this was the first time that they have done this. In the July heat it was hard to imagine Christmas, but they had an idea for a different trophy. The movie A Christmas Story was supposed to be in Hammond, Indiana with the actual house being in Ohio. I don’t know what the significance is down here in Winchester, but like I said it was a very cool award.

Winchester Old Timer’s Club

One of the cooler parts of the day was watching the old cars on the track. Last year there were three series at the track to make sure that someone was always racing. This year there were only two, and there was a little more downtime. The Winchester Old Timer’s Club helped that a little by taking their vintage cars out onto the track. It was really cool to see and photograph some of these vintage vehicles doing their thing. When they were not on the track these cars were in the infield where their owners would sit with them. These were some great people that had some very interesting stories to tell.

Exposure Page

This is a case where the Exposure format really works well. In the next couple of days I will put up an exposure page so that I can showcase a few more of the images from the day. This was a long but fun day with another one ahead today. One way to show more is through a photo essay. Here is a link to my Exposure page from the weekend.

Bonus Video!

Even more bonus on this page. Here is a 10 minute video where I show some of my shooting locations from the past weekend.
