Americana Music as Sung by the Whipstitch Sallies
This past Sunday we went to the final day of the Indiana Fiddler’s Gathering in Battleground, Indiana. When I saw the lineup of the bands that would be playing I immediately recognized one name. I saw the Whipstitch Sallies play a couple of years ago on the campus of Purdue. Here they were again playing for the third day of the Fiddler’s Gathering. It was at this point of the day that I realized that I wish that I had brought more than my 24-70mm lens to the gathering. I would have liked to have gotten some up close shots of the performers. My lens would not get me there with the access that I had. I learned a lesson though, and I will be prepared next year when the gathering comes to town. I have now been to the event two of the three years that I have lived here. I think that it would be a great way to spend a day in future years as well.
Editing the Photo in Lightroom 5
For this photo I did not have to do much. I performed a small crop to get rid of a couple of distracting elements. I then made small adjustments to the blacks, highlights, shadows, and vibrance. This was a quick shot taken while walking around the grounds of the gathering so I didn’t want to spend too much time editing the photo.
