Photo of the Day
As with the photo yesterday this is another one that was made a couple of years ago in Indy. At the time I made an alright HDR image using Photomatix, but I really was still just doing the same thing over and over. The pictures looked a little off to me, and I didn’t know how to fix them. When I made this picture I envisioned the scene this way. One great thing about a RAW file is that it can be interpreted many different ways. This is just one of those ways. I am glad that I was finally able to give the scene on the White River the look that it deserved.
Technical Data
This should be fun today. Below I have posted a video that I made while editing the photo. It really does not take that much more time to make the video, and it gives a little more insight into what I write here. This is my preferred method for making an HDR photo now. I take the photos from Lightroom 5 into Photomatix 5 to merge them. Then I bring the 32 bit file back into Lightroom to edit it there. Here I used a preset called Absolutely Fabulous by Trey Ratcliff. That is why the post has the title that it does. The preset put me right where I wanted to be so the tweaks to the sliders were very minimal. Let me know if you like these videos, and I will make more of them.
