Photo of the Day
Yesterday I photographed day two of the Big Ten Track and Field Championships here in West Lafayette. This has been a great experience photographing a sport that is fairly new to me. What makes it so great is the emotion that is there for you to capture. As the day was winding down Nikki Nunn won the Big Ten Championship in the long jump for Purdue. On the podium she blew a kiss to some of the fans in the stands who were cheering for her. I thought that I did pretty good yesterday capturing the action, but it was this shot that might have been my favorite on the day.
Bonus Photos
Below are a few other images that I liked for one reason or another. Photographing an event like this really tests you. There are so many things that you need to capture with different techniques. It is something that I wish I could do more often. You are running around to the next event all of the time it seems like, but you are rewarded when you get there. Just like yesterday because of the sheer number of photos I am going to have you click through to see them. That way my front page does not get filled up with this post.

Nice! I like the jumpers you’ve captured the best but not to take anything away from the other images. All this while keeping an eye out for the flying javelin……:)
Thank you. The javelin is flying around sometimes from different directions. It helps make things interesting.
