Photo of the Day
One of the highlights of a trip to Chicago is a trip to the Bean as I call it. The actual name of this work of art if Cloud Gate. As a photographer you love reflections, and the bean gives you plenty of them. Some of them can be quite interesting as well. For this past trip I tried to photograph the bean a little differently than I usually have. I wanted to show some of the people as well. In past trips I went early in the morning when I would be the only one there. If someone else was around I would wait them out. For this trip I wanted to show just how big of a draw the bean was. Even on a cold day with a threat of rain many tourists made their way to the large structure to take their picture with it.
Technical Data
For this photo I used the HDR Look preset by Matt Kloskowski as a starting point. From there I worked the sliders to give the photo a look that was more what I had in mind. I love the HDR Look presets, but I do not like the vignette that they have. That is usually the first thing to go.
