Photo of the Day
Here is another photo from my excursion into the Purdue power plant earlier in the week. I really had a great time walking around a building that once was responsible for powering the university. Now it is abandoned, and destined for the wrecking ball. I only had a short time to go through the building, but I wanted to make sure that I did not miss anything. I loved this scene here. The various textures and light made it interesting for me. The thing that clinched it for me was the ‘LIVE’ written on the pipe. At one point this was labeled to protect everyone so that they knew that it was live. Of course you could take the writing with the up arrow and interpret that a different way.
Technical Data
For this photo I made three exposures on the scene at -2, 0, and +2. I then processed them in Photomatix 5 to fuse them together. I then took the 32 bit file back into Lightroom to use the sliders there. I used the HDR Look preset by Matt Kloskowski there to begin with. I then tweaked the sliders to get the look that I wanted.
Another Thank You
A couple of nights ago I received a notification that over 1,000 people have clicked the little follow button at the top of this page. It really means a lot to me that so many people have followed my work. I know it must be interesting given the various styles and topics that I cover on here, but it is a blog about what I am photographing.
