Photo of the Day
I took this photo Friday after shooting the Big Ten Tournament at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse. I had just made it back to my car on the top of a parking garage when I saw the sunset forming in the distance. My first real success as a photographer was from this parking garage shooting a sunset over Lucas Oil. I went over to the edge once again to see if I could make another picture. After a day of shooting basketball it was great to be able to get some landscape work in as well. I think that I have a problem.
Technical Data
Just looking at the scene I knew that I needed to bracket my exposure. I actually bumped it up a bit more than normal to shooting 3 stops apart. When I got back home I ran the three photos that I made through Photomatix 5. I used a Trey Ratcliff preset called Basic Black Dress to get started in the program. From there I made a few tweaks before exporting the photo back into Lightroom 5. Back in Lightroom I made a few small adjustments as well as a little dust removal. The final step was a crop to get rid of some of the unnecessary portions of the photo.
