Photo of the Day
Here is another photo from 2011. I was in the first month of my photo 365 project. I was going out and trying many things hoping that one of them would stick. Sometimes I had multiple photos that I liked, but I would just pick one. This is one of those. On a night with a small pocket of rain coming in at the right time I was able to have some fun with my fairly new camera. I don’t know why it took my this long to rework this photo, but I like the result.
Technical Data
For this jpeg I used a Matt Kloskowski preset called HDR in Lightroom. It really gave this scene a dreamy look that I like. Sometimes I like to just cross the edge of reality with my landscapes. This one does just that.

I’ve been out West and this sky could be non-manipulated – which should be the whole point of HDR – to pull the wide range of tone out of several photographs in order to mimic what our eyes see.
I like this too. Good clean colour saturation, and the blades of the forground wind turbine are not lost in the bluecast clouds.
