Photo of the Day
I made this photo of the boardwalk at Ocean City a couple of years ago during my first trip to Maryland. The first night I was there I stood in the middle of the boardwalk to take it all in. The people were going by my quickly, so I decided to slow my shutter speed down to show that.
Technical Data
I have spent some time trying to find something that would make this picture jump out at me. Looking at some carnival photos on the internet showed me that sometimes an atmosphere like this looks best in a heavy contrast black and white. I used the HDR in black and white preset by Matt Kloskowski here to start. I really did not need to do much here after that. I adjusted the blacks, and the overall exposure here. It really turned out how I had hoped it would. Next summer I will shoot with this in mind to try and make some interesting images.
