Photo of the Day
I spent so much time recapping 2013 that I did not get to post one of my favorite shots of the young women’s basketball season. Before the Boilers last game against Central Michigan I went to the other end of the court to get some pre game shots. The introduction shots can be a bit boring, but I love the way that the girls get ready for the game. Just after the intros they form a circle, and pass around one of the point guards. They push her around the circle. It was always fun to watch from the stands, and it was something that I wanted to capture on the court. Here guard KK Houser gets thrown around prior to the game. As you can see the girls enjoy the ritual. Tonight they start Big Ten play at Ohio State. Hopefully they can enjoy their post game there as well.
Day two into the new year, and already two sports photos. I promise that I won’t post another one tomorrow.
Technical Data
There is not much to talk about here. This was shot with my 5D Mark III with the 24-70mm lens on it. I had to shoot blindly over my head to get the height for the look that I wanted. Maybe it is the fact that I am used to shooting kids blindly, but I have gotten to know where the lens is pointing. This was a photo in Mackey where I have custom shooting settings so I didn’t need to adjust in post. A very easy edit which is nice.
