Photo of the Day
With Christmas approaching fast this blog has quickly become a place to post Christmas photos. That may be a welcome break for some who may have been sick of seeing sports photos on here. This is yet another photo from the gingerbread house display at the Purdue Memorial Union. They had a wide range of house that I thought were very cool. This one showed the inside of Santa’s workshop from the movie Elf. We have recently watched that movie at home, and I think that it makes the gingerbread house that much cooler. I love everything about Christmas, and I guess it makes sense that I over photograph the holiday.
Technical Data
This photo was taken from behind a rope. I could not get the angle that I really wanted to get rid of the background. With that in mind I simply cropped that background out to give me this square look. I never used to like the square crop, and then Instagram came along and changed my view of it. I also applied an HDR preset in Lightroom to make everything really pop in the photo. A very quick and easy edit in Lightroom.
