Photo of the Day
Last night I made the picture above from a new location. After shooting a few games this season all of my pictures started to get a familiar feel to them. It seemed as if I was just making the same picture over and over. I decided to change things up a bit. I planned on standing for the first half of the game. This would make sure that the refs did not block my shot, and give me a little room to compose. In the second half I wanted to sit off to the side to get a different look. Both views gave me some pictures that I liked. Sitting off to the side though I had a player come and say hi last night. Rapheal Davis chased down a loose ball right into me last night. The play started near the basket, and ended up in my lap. It did give me a chance to get a couple of shots up close though. I still like the look of pictures made when I am sitting on the baseline, but it was cool to change things up a bit last night. Sometimes a new angle can make you see things a little differently.
Photomechanic 5
Last night was the first real test run of Photomechanic for me. I had used it for some other shoots the past couple of days, but it really shines for sports. You get a chance to see your photos much quicker than with programs such as Lightroom. With a great way to caption photos this program is great for getting photos turned around and sent out. I will go over the program in a little more detail later, but the keyboard shortcuts really make things go quickly.
Bonus Pictures
Here are a couple of pictures that I liked from the night.
