Photo of the Day
Over the weekend I spent a lot of time at the union. We visited the tree and gingerbread houses with the little ones, and then went back to do it again on Sunday. In addition to that we had a banquet in the main ballroom. Every time that I went to the union over the weekend I would admire the tree that sits in one of the halls. It really is impressive in size. I knew that it would make for a great picture. Now that I have seen it at night I know that I need to go back with my tripod. The light will be more even on it, and I think that another angle on this would be amazing. That photo may show up before this holiday season is over. For now here is a straight on look at the tree.
Technical Data
For this photo I knew that I wanted a HDR look. I took three photos two stops apart to merge them into HDR. In the end though I just took the metered exposure into Lightroom. There I used the HDR Look preset that I downloaded for free from Matt Kloskowski. From there it took a few slider tweaks to get it where I wanted it. This was a fun photo to edit for sure.

Wow!!
