Diving Right In

Photo of the Day

As I said earlier in the weekend my weekend was full of sports to photograph. I shot four events in three days. The first of those was the Purdue men’s and women’s swim meet against Ohio State, Northwestern, and Iowa. A swim meet is a hard event to photograph. You have multiple swimmers in the pool at one time along with divers constantly going in a rotation. You have to be on your toes to capture all of the action. I slowed things down, and just tried to work on divers, and then I transitioned over to the swimming portion of the meet. I can’t wait to photograph the next meet after the new year. After a few days straight of sports photos I thought that I owe my longtime followers a nice landscape or two. I am shooting the basketball game tomorrow night so I may have to string a few landscapes in a row at the end of the week.

Technical Data

The only real adjustments here were all done in Lightroom 5. I adjusted the temperature, and added some highlights to the image. I also added a bit of clarity. With all of my swimming images from Friday I just had a couple of minor adjustments to account for the lighting. By the end of the meet though I had my settings dialed in.
