Photo of the Day
Yesterday I was at the Big Ten Cross Country Championships here in West Lafayette. I knew that the course would be amazing this time of year so I put on my warm clothes and made the short trip to the new athletic complex. This was my first time on the course so it took a second to get my bearings on where I should be. By the time the women started the 6k race I had a good handle on where I wanted to shoot. With people lining the sides of the course everywhere it was hard to get a clean background. I found a spot here where I could show some of the beauty of the fall along with the athletes. Here Emma-Lisa Murphy of Wisconsin leads the field. She had a huge lead here, but would eventually fade to finish 17th. The eventual winner and Big Ten Champion Erin Finn of Michigan can be seen in the background gaining ground. She would close the gap shortly, and create a big gap of her own.
Technical Data
For this shot I just performed a small crop along with a couple of minor slider adjustments in Lightroom. This shot really did not need too much tweaking.
