By the Light of the Silvery Moon

Photo of the Day

I have for the most part been posting far ahead of time while I get used to having a baby around the house. I have thrown in a few posts as something timely happens, but for the most part this blog is scheduled through the end of October. That is great because it gives me the chance to go back through the archives and pull out some files that might have gotten lost in all of the other files on my computer. For some reason I really have not gone through the images from Ocean City like I have wanted to. It has kind of been a hit and miss editing option. I kind of like that though as I have a sharper eye that way. I also won’t edit the entire batch with the edit of the day so to speak. Sometimes I get stuck on a style, and love it for a month or so. Then I look back and wonder why I edited every vacation picture the same way.

This photo was taken while waiting for the full moon to rise with my step daughter. It was an awesome sight seeing the moon rise up over the ocean. I am glad that along with the memories I have these pictures from the night as well. I had my tripod set up to make the pictures, but my step daughter pushed the button more often than not. I had the camera set up for a two second delay so that you would not see the camera shake during the long exposure.

Technical Data

This was edited using the HDR look preset by Matt Kloskowski in Lightroom. I have edited other photos from this vacation with this preset so maybe time still does not stop me from editing all my pictures the same. A few subtle tweaks to the sliders in Lightroom, and the photo was ready to post here.
