What Is Old Is New

Jordan Danks watches his solo home run leave the yard against the Texas Rangers. The home run helped his brother John pick up the win

Photo of the Day

I chose this photo for a couple of reasons. The first is that thirty years ago today the magical 1983 season for the Chicago White Sox came to an end in a ten inning game. That was a great year for the team from the South Side. To honor that season the club decided to wear these great throwback uniforms for every Sunday home game this season. I went to the game on August 25th to see the uniforms in person.

The second reason that I chose this photo is that White Sox outfielder Jordan Danks is watching his home run sail out of the park. A home run is nice, but when it helps your brother get a win it is even better. His brother John Danks did not have the best season after coming back from arm surgery so the win was great. I just loved the idea of a brother helping out another brother. The uniform is nice as well.

Technical Data

Since this is a sports image I just adjusted the highlights, and shadows here. I don’t do much to my sports images, and that is fine with me. It is nice to have an easy edit every now and then.
