Photo of the Day
Earlier in the week I went out to the windmills where I have taken so many pictures. I have not been visiting the site much lately, but I think that part of that is the fact that I thought I had taken every picture I could out there. I decided to go out again, but with something different in mind. I wanted to include the windmills in my pictures, but as background pieces. Here I found an interesting old fence post that I thought might look good with what I had in mind. A little adjustment moved the windmills into place for me, and I was ready to go.
Technical Data
Here I had a clear plan from the start. Earlier this week I saw Man of Steel in the theater. There was something about the de-saturated look that the film was shot in that really spoke to me. I wanted to try and re-create that here. I used Matt Kloskowski’s light sports desaturated preset for Lightroom as a start here. A few tweaks then brought me the picture that I had in mind when I started. I really would like to try a few more barn scenes with this desaturated plan in mind. The visuals from the movie were really very striking, and I think that something similar would make for a few nice pictures.
