Photo of the Day
For the past few years I have heard this silly phrase today. The Star Wars community has really latched onto the date as their own. I took this picture about a week ago, and I thought that I would wait until today to release it. Someone has painted a lot of robot artwork on the supports of the 52 bridge where it intersects with 43 just before you enter West Lafayette. I have driven by these works of art many times, but I finally stopped last week. I really struggled with what to take a picture of here. I wanted to get in close to get some of the detail, but I also wanted to show the entire thing. For today I thought that I would shot the shot of the entire work of art. In the future one of the detail shots may end up on this blog.
Technical Data
For this picture I wanted a different look. I finally used a preset that I have yet to use from the Trey Ratcliff preset collection. It is called Dramatic Chippy. For most photos I don’t like the look it gives the photo. I think that it gives this bridge support a bit of a Mad Max type look which I was going for. Another feature of Lightroom that I have not used yet is the is under the lens corrections tab. I have used the automatic selection, but never gone into manual mode. I took this shot which had a bit of distortion to it, and I fixed it using the sliders. I love how I took this tipped shot, and made it appear as if I was about three feet taller. I really have yet to scratch the surface of what Lightroom can do I guess.
