Photo of the Day
Tonight I rode my bike over to the baseball field here in West Lafayette to watch some baseball. It was beautiful weather for a game, and when I got there I realized that it was beautiful light as well. I shot into the sun to get the details that normally get lost. The sun really picks up all of the dirt making normal shots look much better. The game was short because of the ten run rule, but I was able to make some nice pictures in a short period of time. I was very glad that I went. If all goes well tomorrow morning I will be heading to Victory Field to make some pictures of a couple of Triple A teams. If you want to see more pictures from tonight’s game you can see my gallery on Facebook here.
I named the post the way that I did tonight for a couple of reasons. The first was the great light that I shot in. You really can’t beat it. The second was that the pitcher shown above had a pretty good night. He got the shutout on the mound, and knocked in the game winner to seal the ten run rule. A pretty good night if you ask me.
Technical Data
I did not do much here. I used a small crop to get in tighter. I shot it loose knowing that I could crop in if need be. Other than that a small highlight and temperature adjustment were the only ones that I made. I shot most of the game in manual mode so that I could keep up with the changing light a little better. The light was constant so I did not need to be in aperture priority mode. I think that the subtle adjustments kept the light looking pretty good in my pictures.
